CR Del Norte campus commemorates Tolowa Territory

College of the Redwoods is holding an event to recognize its Del Norte Education Center is located in Tolowa Territory. The event will include the revealing of a new sign greeting guests to the campus and recognizing the campus is located in Tolowa Territory.  The new welcome sign was constructed from a slab of 3’ x 4 1/2’ redwood by Jed Smith Redwood Burl Company of Crescent City.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 7, from 5pm to 6pm at the CR Del Norte Education Center. Food and drink will be provided. Media is welcome, as are all CR students, staff and faculty, Crescent City Chamber members, Del Norte County general public, and members of the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation.

There will also be a Crescent City Chamber mixer after the recognition ceremony.
